Fall Fashion Model Runway Show

Cole & I had the super fun opportunity to be on the cat walk!

A few weeks ago we tried out for the Superstition Springs Back to School & Fall Fashion Show sponsored by the Tanya Barnes-Matt Modeling Agency. It said calling all ages, shapes, & sizes, so . . . I figured, what the heck, I've always wanted to at least try something like that, & that would be fun! We tried out and a few days later were notified that we were chosen to model for Gap & Gap Baby.

It was a really fun experience! The show was today @ 1pm. We started out the morning with a run through practice with about 70 models total who were modeling for different stores in the mall & then we were sent in groups down to Macy's to get our make-up professionally done.

Cole was so good about the whole thing. He just held my hand going down the runway, posed a few times, then I picked him up & walked back, and he didn't cry or act scared at all. He just seemed like, "ok, here we go!" We got to go down individually and then as a group of the Gap Woman Models.

The Pics a lil blurry, but isn't he a cutie!? He could totally be "Male Model of the Year"!

The only down side about the clothes I was modeling was how extremely hot I was in the outfit! Even though it was inside, it's still summer outside!! But we were showing off upcoming fall styles, so ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Oh, & the bummer fact that we didn't get to keep the clothes we modeled, darn it!

We got our portraits taken at Kiddie Kandids were we each get an 8x10 in our outfits. All the participants also got fun bright green goody bags with different, make-up, food, & hair samples in 'em.

My family came to support & my mom had fun being our personal photographer for the show. Well, she loves taking pictures anyway so it worked out great!
So even if I never get to do something like this again, I can at least say that I've tried modeling!
Oh! And if anyone wants to try out something like this, it's a fun, easy try-out & they do it every year, if not every season. And it's open to all ages, shapes, & sizes, so you or your cute little kiddos or both could do it! I had just received the info. in an email from the Superstition Mall.

And now! Back to reality, because, as Derek ZooLander would say . . .

"There's more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking!"

In The Dog House

"What A cute little puppy! Lets take him home! He's a keeper!"

~ Oh, if only having kids were as easy as picking out a puppy at the pet store!

This actually was Coles first trip to the Pet Store! He got to check out all the lil hamsters, rats, mice, Ginny pigs, rabbits, cats, fishes, birds, snakes, lizards, frogs, & turtles too!
This was as fun a trip for Jace & I as it was for Cole because he loves animals & it was fun to see his excitement. And honestly, I kinda felt like a kid again in there & totally enjoyed sticking Cole in the dog houses, which he thought was pretty funny.

Those little water turtles are actually fast lil buggers, but I caught one to show Cole! But don't tell! I don't think your suppose to pick 'em up. Oh well, we had fun! I mean, you'd have to check the one you'd want to buy anyway, right?!

Trying to catch them 'lil fishies with his bare hands! -Not quite successful; maybe next time!

Innocent?!

Soooo . . . . I don't even remember how he got a hold of a brand new roll of paper towels but I think I was cleaning. So after I realize its a little too quite in the front room, I walk in to see Cole had unraveled the entire roll! Spread across the whole family room. By this point he was playing with something else, but I guess he wanted to show me how cool it was that he had unraveled the whole thing & ran over to play in it.

As you can see, he thought it was the greatest! Like, "look what I did Mom"! Sometimes I wonder why I even try & clean up after him during the day, I should just wait til the dust settles when he is peacefully sleeping like an angel. *sigh*

But who could get mad at a sweet face like that? So I figured, might as well make it a "kodak moment".

My Very Own?!

I just couldn't help but post these oh so fun pics of Cole being so excited when we gave him his own B of M. No, really! This was not staged or smiles provoked, he was that excited! He's gonna be a great missionary!

A few weeks ago I decided we should start family scripture reading with Cole since we read books with him every night anyway right before bed. I figured we'd do one or two verses a night. Ambitious? Maybe. But he's good about it. So this is Cole's very own first Book of Mormon with a message from Mom & Dad in the front. We might as well get in the habit of reading it now so that perhaps by the time he can read on his own, it'll be something that's a part of him.

Already into advanced literature! Uh, OK. not really. But he does love to look at the pictures in the front & point out Jesus in them!
