HOw To SAve A LIzard . . .
A few weeks ago I went into the dance studio to work out and went over to one of the corners to turn on the fan, looked down, and saw a 'lil gecko stuck to one of those extremely super sticky pads to catch bugs. You know, the kind the pest control co. leaves in spots where bugs could get in easily.
Well, I saw the poor guy and absolutely could not leave him there to slowly die! Especially since geckos help keep the bugs down. So I called a couple of people (including the Pest Control co.) to get ideas on how to get him off without killing him. Basically, I was told it couldn't be done.
I wasn't about to take no for an answer! My mom gave me the idea to try canola or olive oil.
So I poured it all over him(note: make sure not to drown him, so he can still breathe), let it sit for a few minutes, then took a thick 'n sturdy piece of paper and worked it slowly around his body 'til he was free!! Then I scooped him up and set him loose outside.
I know he lived( at least for awhile) cuz I came back to check on him a 1/2 hour later and he was gone ( assuming it was a "he"). I also called back the pest control people to inform them that, yes, it can be done, and to let others know 'bout in case it happens to them.
Anyway,
that's how you save a lizard or anything stuck to a sticky pad for that matter.
Note:
if its a living thing, don't use "Goo Off", that could def. kill it cuz of the harsh chemicals.
Even
though it was small, it felt great to save one of Heavenly Fathers creatures!
